Michael Byrns is an Assistant Professor of Environmental Health at Illinois State University. He performed his postdoctoral work at The University of Pennsylvania with Trevor Penning and received his Ph.D. from The University of Minnesota working with Lisa Peterson. His research has focused on the biochemistry and molecular pharmacology of steroid hormones. He has taught classes in Environmental Science, Environmental Health Policy, Epidemiology, and Toxicology. He is a member of the Illinois Heartland ACS Section Climate Science Outreach Team.
